Relax & Unwind

Massages at Coco Loco are carried out by trained local therapists. Sessions focus on relaxation and physical recovery, taking place in a calm, natural setting. Treatments are professional, simple, and adapted to your needs - whether after surfing, yoga, or long travel days.

  • Temazcal Experience

A traditional sweat lodge guided by a local host. Inside a small dome, volcanic stones are heated and infused with water and herbs to create steam and rising heat. The session includes 4 rounds, with time to cool down in between. It also includes a volcanic clay and sea salt scrub with aromatic flowers, aloe vera hydration, an ice bath for hot–cold contrast, and a herbal tea from the garden. Simple, intense, and a chance to slow down and reset.

  • Volcán Telíca

The Telica Volcano is one of Nicaragua’s most active volcanoes and offers a raw, off-the-beaten-path experience. A short hike leads you across a rugged volcanic landscape to the smoking crater, where you can feel the power of nature up close. The trip pairs perfectly with a day in León. Many guests head out in the afternoon to reach the crater in time for sunset—when the landscape turns golden.

  • Boat Trip & Wakeboarding

We offer boat trips to the nearby mangroves, where you explore a largely untouched natural area by boat. Gliding through the calm waterways, you're surrounded by nature, wildlife, and wide views often with a volcano in the background. The trip always includes wakeboarding, and there's also the option to ride an inflatable sofa or jump from trees into the water. It's a fun, active experience that works well for friends, families, and groups who want to combine nature with time on the water.

  • Volcano Hike Cosigüina

Only 1.5 hours north of Coco Loco, near the borders of Honduras and El Salvador, Volcán Cosigüina offers one of the most stunning views in the region. On clear days, you can see across the Gulf of Fonseca toward both Honduras and El Salvador - a rare moment where three countries meet in one panoramic view. An easy 45-minute walk through forest leads you to the crater rim, where you can look down into the lagoon at the bottom of the volcano and out across Nicaragua's northern peninsula. A perfect half-day nature escape beyond the waves.

  • Baby Turtles

We run a small turtle hatchery directly on the beach, where we protect sea turtle eggs purchased from local collectors and care for them until they hatch. If you're here at the right time, you may be able to join us in releasing the baby turtles together into the ocean, Hatching follows natural cycles, not fixed dates. The process is handled carefully and with respect for the animals and their environment. Important to know: This is a conservation effort, not a guaranteed experience-timing and nature decide.

  • Local Fruit Walk

We offer a Local Fruit Walk directly on our property. During a guided walk, you'll learn which fruits grow around Coco Loco, how they are used locally, and how the seasons shape what grows here. Our land is home to around 100 plant species, including more than 20 different fruit varieties. It's a relaxed and educational experience that helps you better understand the landscape and where your food comes from. Good to know: What you see and taste depends on the season-nature decides what's ready.

  • Chocolate Making

We offer a hands-on chocolate making workshop together with a member of our team. Step by step, you'll learn how chocolate is made from cacao, from simple processing to tasting the final result. A relaxed, hands-on activity that works well for both adults and children. It's an interactive and relaxed experience that's about understanding ingredients, traditional methods, and enjoying the process together.

  • Local Community Tour

Our Community Tours take you beyond the resort and into the surrounding area. They offer insight into everyday life in the local communities and help create a better understanding of the place and the people who live here. During the tour, we visit different locations and talk about projects that have been developed together over time. These include long-term initiatives such as the construction of local schools, community water projects and more. The focus is not on sightseeing, but on context and connection. It's an opportunity to see how shared efforts can lead to lasting impact.

  • Kids Club

Our Kids Days take place every Tuesday and Thursday and bring together children of different ages from the local community. All children are welcome to join. The afternoons are about playing, learning, and spending time together in a safe and open environment. The groups are led by Jocelyn from our team, who guides the activities with care and patience. It's a simple, joyful experience that creates connection for the kids and for everyone involved.
Honest note: This is a community-focused activity, not a structured kids' program group. each day grows naturally with the group.

  • Tortilla Making

We offer a tortilla making workshop directly at the resort, led by a member of our team. You'll learn how traditional corn tortillas are made from preparing the dough to shaping and cooking them by hand. It's a simple, hands-on experience that gives insight into everyday Nicaraguan food culture and ends with enjoying what you've made together.
